Welcome to the home page of Student Development and Support Services. We pride ourselves on providing a range of high quality services to assist you during the course of your studies and to help prepare you for life after graduation.

We aim to enhance your experience at the University of Stirling and help you to get the most out of your time here. We provide a wide range of services, opportunities and projects:

 

  • Get money advice and support with budgeting from the Student Money Advice team;
  • Support for disability and dyslexia from the Disability Service.
  • Access Counselling and Wellbeing for support with your mental and emotional health and take time out to talk over any problem that is causing you anxiety.
  • Discuss your career options, find out how to gain relevant work experience, get advice on applications and interviews, talk through taking a year out, self-employment and postgraduate study at the Career Development Centre.
  • Our purpose built faith centre/chaplaincy  is a friendly, welcoming place, open to students and staff of all faiths and none.
  • Thinking about leaving University - should I stay or should I go? Find out what help and support is available.
  • Specialist information and support for students who have been in local authority care (with foster parents, residential setting, foyer, looked after at home).

 

Student Development and Support Services is headed by Mark Wilkinson and is made up of four teams each headed by a manager:

Head of Disability Service – Ali Clark

Joint Heads of Career Development – Pam Crawford and Lesley Grayburn

Head of Money Advice and Student Guidance –Jane Harris

Senior Counsellor – Les Wallace
